Important Note
Versions 1.81 and later contain a new feature that will streamline the upgrade
process. After this upgrade, in the future, you will be advised each time
you use the software (if connected to the web) when a newer version than
the one you are using is available. If so notified, with your permission,
the download of the newer version will automatically transfer to your
computer. The transfer process will be completed without further action on
your part, and your existing client files and consultant data will be
transferred to the upgrade version. Version 1.60 and later versions have
new reports and calculations, therefore some new reports will differ from
earlier versions. |
Download Process: Conversion to New Automatic Feature
Note: The model which is downloaded here requires a user id before
the software can be used. If you are a current user and need a
user id,
please e-mail sales@ltcia.com and include
the consultant name and company name as you would like them to appear on client reports. If you are not a current LTCia customer, please click on the Get It
button to order your copy.
The model which is downloaded here is for individual
subscribers who purchased their software directly from us. If you
received your original copy through our multi-user agreement with your
company, contact us or your administrator for your update copy. If you are not sure whether this applies to you, please e-mail sales@ltcia.com
for assistance.
You will probably find it easier to print these instructions,
particularly if you want to preserve the client information in the old version
of the model.

Start Windows Explorer by clicking on the Windows
start button in the bottom left corner of your screen, then click on Programs
then Windows Explorer.

In Explorer, find the folder Program Files and click
on the + to the left of it. Then, find the Ltcia folder which will
appear in the list which drops down under Program Files and click on
it. Some early versions of the model installed in c:\My Documents\Ltcia.
If your model is in this folder, you must move it to c:\Program Files\Ltcia,
which you will have to create.
You will also need to adjust the Shortcuts on your desktop and start menu to
point to the correct folder. If you need assistance with this, please e-mail
support@ltcia.com.

On the right side of the screen, find the file which is
named ltcia.mde. On some systems, it will just display ltcia
for the name, but there should only be one ltcia file in this folder.
If there is more than one, you can find the right one by displaying the full filename of
each file by
clicking on it once with the right mouse button, then clicking on Properties
in the menu which pops up.

To save your current client information by keeping the
old software: Click on ltcia.mde with the right mouse button, then
click on Rename in the menu which pops up. Type ltciaold.mde for
the new name. To delete your current client information by removing the
old software: Click on ltcia.mde with the right mouse button, then
click on Delete in the menu which pops up.

Click on the appropriate Get It button at the end of
this step. A window will pop up asking you whether you want to Open this
file from its current location or Save this file to disk. Select Save
this file to disk, then save the file into the c:\Program Files\ltcia
folder.

For users who prefer to download a Zip file, and have the appropriate
software to use it:

If you download a Zip file, you must unzip it before proceeding.

You are now ready to run the new model. If you have followed
the steps for preserving client information from the old version, you can
open the old version in Explorer.
